Ephesians 4:27, “ Neither give Satan any foothold”.

As mentioned last week, the above scripture warns believers not to give the enemy a foothold – these can be referred to as DOORWAYS and if we open them, it COULD DESTROY our marriages, children, families!

There are a number of DOORWAYS that the enemy can use to bring destruction into our lives and into our relationships – we will focus on three for now:

  1. Secrets
The Bible has the following to say about SECRETS:
  • Job 13:10, “God will rebuke you if you secretly show partiality”
  • Psalm 11:2,“ …the wicked…… shoot arrows secretly”
  • Psalm 19:12, “Cleanse me from secret faults”
  • Luke 8:17, …“secrets will be revealed…… anything hidden will be revealed and come to light”
  • Psalm 44:21, “God knows the secrets of our hearts”

When we keep secrets and we do things in a secret manner in our relationships, it can open a DOORWAY for Satan to sow destruction in these relationships. The enemy uses whatever is kept in darkness to steal, kill and destroy from you as well as those whom with you are in a relationship with.

We must be a people who choose to do ALL things in the LIGHT – for where there is LIGHT, darkness cannot be!

  1. Dishonesty
Luke 16:10,”…dishonest with little,  dishonest with much…”
Dishonesty in relationships weakens genuine love and it takes away transparency. The absence of honesty strengthens division in any relationship.
Dishonesty is false, and it pretends everything is fine, but it is not, and through the DOORWAY to darkness opens and calamity begins…….for where there is dishonesty, truth cannot function.
We must eliminate all dishonesty in our lives so that God’s truth may freely operate!
  2. Wrong attitudes
1 Kings 21:5 refers to a “..bitter attitude”
2 Chronicles 32:25 states that “a proud attitude angers God”
1 Peter 5:5 reveals that “…God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble…”

In Psalm 101:5 God clearly said He will destroy those who slander their neighbour….those who have an arrogant attitude.

A bad attitude says, “I want everything my way” and it displays selfishness. When we operate in wrong attitudes, we open a DOORWAY for the enemy to enforce his agenda – an agenda to sow destruction wherever he goes and to steal the blessing that is meant to function in our relationships.

We must make a decision to imitate Christ and to display His attitudes as revealed in Philippians 2:5-8 in our relationship with one another!

It is TIME to CLOSE  the DOORWAYS to Satan for he is a thief, a murderer and a destroyer (John 10.10).

Take up the MANUAL of BLESSING (BIBLE) and allow it:

  • Into your HAND,
  • Into your HEAD
  • Into your HEART, and
  • Into your ACTIONS

Make your family motto the essence of Romans 12.:10, which is the bold declaration:

We believe in you and we want you to experience the blessing of the Lord on your lives and in all your relationships!

We are praying for you!

Much love,
Ps Gebhardt and Shannon
